Level 2 NVQ
Overview
A Level 2 NVQ will allow you to apply for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Blue Card.
A Level 2 Certificate or Diploma within Construction Operations is ideal for those looking to build on their skills within their particular trade. It is created for those who are already working as a site operative in their chosen trade within the construction industry. The Level 2 qualification also provides opportunities for progression to supervisory and management qualifications.

How are the Level 2 NVQ assessed?
The Centre uses the e-portfolio system Quals Direct that will manage all of the evidences and assessments.
Candidates will be assessed through a variety of assessment methods and evidences will be collated by both the candidate and assessor through observations, written/ verbal questions, witness statements, photographic evidences, videos, professional discussions and various supporting site documentary evidence.
The assessor will prove the candidates competency by observing the candidate carrying out their work relating to the NVQ standards competently and safely.
Assessments will be carried out at the candidate’s place of work, without no work being simulated to prove competency.
The assessor will work with the candidate to make sure they have met the requirements for each of the units being achieved within the NVQ.
How much does the Level 2 NVQ cost?
The total cost for this NVQ including registration and delivery is £700.00

What are the next steps after passing the Level 2 NVQ?
You can apply for the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Blue Card. You will need to first pass the CITB Site Operative Health, Safety and Environment Test. The Blue CSCS Card will allow you access to construction sites in the UK as a skilled worker.
How long does the Level 2 NVQ last for?
Once you have gained your Level 2 NVQ, you will not have to do it again. You will however need to renew your Blue CSCS Card every 5 years by passing the CITB Site Operative Health, Safety and Environment Test.
What are the next steps after the Level 2 NVQ?
Having achieved a Level 2 NVQ provides opportunities to progress on to further qualifications and training in areas such as supervisory, technical and management.
